The FIP conducted an analysis of high-risk species within the fishery using historical data from 2016-2020; The results showed that there some trends of overfishing to individual stocks occured. 

The FIP continues to collect and record data for the data collection program. From January to November, a total of 237 hauls were conducted through 15 survey trips.

The FIP continues to collect and analyze environmental data to assess the impact of trawl fishing on the habitat; an analysis of the eastern Gulf of Thailand region has been made available. 

The FIP held a workshop on good fishing practices to reduce impact and mitigate interactions with ETP species.

The FIP has actively been collecting data from otter board trawls, beam trawls, and pair trawls on a monthly basis. Between January- June 2023, a total of 434 samples were collected- 300 samples were collected from the Gulf of Thailand while 134 samples were obtained from the Andaman Sea.

The FIP conducted a review of ETP species from IUCN, CITES and via national regulations. 

The FIP has collected and analyzed environmental data to assess the impact of trawl fishing on the habitat; while further in-depth analysis is required, the study suggested that many fish species are potentially at high-risk. 

Committee meeting on National Fisheries Policy conducted the allocation of commercial fishing licenses for the 2022-2023 season. 

A PSA was conducted for the fishery using survey data from 2016-2020; seven species were identified as high vulnerability including the slender lizardfish, eeltail catfish, moray eell, barracuda, gray shark, mangrove whipray and the bluespotted stingray.
