Cinnabar goatfish, whose stock structure is unknown, is found in coastal areas of the Indian Ocean and western region of the Pacific Ocean from the Eastern African Coast to Fiji (Froese and Pauly 2018). In the Indo-Pacific species identification is also uncertain (Randall and Heemstra 2009). This profile represents Cinnabar goatfish from Indonesian waters.
