Alaska plaice

The Alaska plaice (Pleuronectes quadrituberculatus) in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands is assessed by the National Marine Fisheries Service on a biennial basis (NPFMC, 2023). The resource is primarily distributed on the Eastern Bering Sea continental shelf with small amounts found in the Aleutian Islands region (NPFMC, 2023). The stock seems to be positioned further north in warm years and more southern in cold years. There has been no research on stock structure of this species (NPFMC, 2023).
