According to the latest stock assessment in 2022, the northern shrimp stock on Flemish Cap is considered to be a separate population (NAFO, 2022). This stock is managed within Division 3M by the scientific council within the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization (NAFO), (NAFO, 2021).

Strengths
- Several indices of stock status are determined. International observer samples are included in the age dataset and international data is compiled into a standardized CPUE index. The fishery has been closed since 2011 due to poor stock status.
