The Lane snapper (Lutjanus synagris) is widely distributed in the Western Atlantic in front of the American Continent, from North Carolina to Brazil, including the Bermudas and the Gulf of Mexico (Torres and Chávez 1987). There is no clear information about the Lane snapper stock structure in the Southern Gulf of Mexico region which this profile represents a single assessment unit that coincides with the management of the snapper group of species in this region (DOF 2018)(IMIPAS 2023).
