The frontiers of the stock are not described and further studies should be conducted to properly identify the population structure. Two distinct stocks are considered to exist in Indonesia: the Arafura Sea (eastern Indonesia) and Western Indonesia (Suliostiono et al., 2002). The map below represents the distribution of silver sillago within Indonesian waters in the Arafura Sea (Froese and Pauly, 2014).
