The stock structure of the Snowy grouper (Epinephelus niveatus) is not completely understood but has been considered an independent population in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) (Sanchez et al. 2022). Until clear evidence of biological stocks, this profile represents the Snowy grouper Gulf of Mexico Management Unit, managed by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council (GMFMC) as part of the “deep water grouper” species complex.
