The FIP has transitioned to using a digital logbook, making it easier to detect transcription errors and reduce the wait time for data analysis.

The FIP has produced a preliminary report on the impact of the bivalve fishery on ETP species using data from the 2023-2024 season; no interactions were recorded and the fishery impact on ETP species is likely low.

The FIP participated in the 3rd meeting of bivalve researchers to discuss agreements on biomass recovery for the chocolate clam, improvements in stock evaluation methods, and the development of technical and management plans to guide sustainable exploitation.

The FIP is in the process of undergoing a stock assessment; a draft of the report has been made available. 

The FIP held their semi-annual assembly in early 2024 to discuss topics such as stock assessment results and catch control rules; the group agreed to support efforts to design a recovery strategy for the chocolate clam.

The FIP working group has begun to develop a proposal for an exploitation strategy to include HCRs

The final report on the bivalve population evaluation has been made available; no interactions were observed between target and ETP species. 

The FIP continues to analyze biomass estimates for bivalve species; the results of the analysis will serve as the foundation to building an exploitation strategy. 

An operations report has been made available detailing the completion of the 6-month pilot phase of the Community Surveillance Program. 

Workshop on the use of the e-logbook was conducted by the FIP; 19 attendees participated in the workshop. 

Preliminary monitoring results have been made available via presentation; the results demonstrate minimal ETP interactions. The final report of the results is pending completion.
