Thornback ray
A population of thornback ray Raja clavata is considered to occur in the North Sea, which moves into the eastern English Channel (ICES 2021). About ten skate and ray species occur in the region, R. clavata being the most important skate for the commercial fisheries. ICES provides scientific advice biennially, based on research survey data assessments (ICES 2021).
