The FIP conducted outreach activities conducted from May- October 2024; activities included socializations and citizen science training, aimed to enhance community awareness of sustainable practices and Governor Regulation No. 55 of 2023, reaching 249 participants across five villages​.

The FIP has intensified monitoring efforts in Saleh Bay, supported by 36 law enforcement patrols, 174 community patrols, and market interventions, achieving over 70% compliance with fishing and zoning regulations. Additionally, a Task Force and Communication Forum were established in West Nusa Tenggara to enhance enforcement, enable rapid reporting of violations, and ensure timely follow-up actions to combat unsustainable fishing practices.

The FIP has conducted an ecosystem-based fisheries management (EBFM) workshop emphasizing holistic approaches to sustainability by integrating fisheries, ecology, and human factors. The group discussed destructive fishing practices, data synchronization, pollution, and the need for alternative livelihoods.

Decree No. 523-425/ 2024 issued which details a sustainable management plan for snapper and grouper fisheries in Nusa Tenggara Barat, focused on strategies to reduce destructive fishing, monitor resources, and enforce minimum size limits.

The FIP has conducted a Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) assessment. 

The FIP has conducted a review of the sixth-year implementation of the Sustainable Fisheries Management Action Plan (P2K2B) for snappers and groupers in West Nusa Tenggara; the review identifies challenges such as unsustainable fishing practices, low compliance with regulations, and declining fish stocks while suggesting technical strategies for improvement.

A paper on the use of MSE using the MERA tool to evaluate management procedures (MPs) for improving the management of the leopard coral grouper fishery in Saleh Bayhas been published. 

A SMART Patrol training was conducted in Saleh Bay and attended by 29 participants from the provincial and district agencies, community surveillance groups, and NGOs.

Two framework survey workshops were conducted in 2023 in an effort to obtain information on fishing vessels in West Nusa Tenggarra. The workshop findings revealed that only 15% of fishing vessels were identified from the estimates, highlighting the need for improvement in the fishing vessel data collection system.

Meeting held to discuss the most recent stock assessment and management activities in the Nusa province. 

Regulation No. 55/ 2023 has been adopted as an amendment to the West Nusa Tenggara regulation No. 32/ 2018. The new regulation considers updated mesh and gear size, the development of current scientific information, changes in management actions and problems faced for the sustainable management of snapper/ grouper fisheries.

Increase to PI 1.1.2; MERA assessment was conducted collaboratively from June-August 2022 resulting in a set of harvest control rules for Lutjanus malabaricus and Plectropomus leopardus. 

Increase to PI 2.4.3; Mapping of habitat distribution throughout the Saleh Bay was conducted in 2021-2022 and it's confirmed that VMEs exist within the fishery area.
