The FIP has continued to conduct biological monitoring; 1027 individuals were captured and recorded between September 2023- May 2024 where they showed a general average of 7.4 cm in total length.

A fishing surveillance log has been developed and implemented to report unauthorized fishing incidents within designated zones; In June 2024, a training was conducted for the first project phase focused on implementing a surveillance and data collection system in the Marismas Nacionales Reserve, involving area prospecting, discussions, and talks to gather information and develop necessary variables for the log.

A preliminary report of the Roots Project has been made available; The FIP continues to conduct monitoring in the Marismas Nacionales Reserve to identify the impact the fishery has on habitats and ETP species. Fishermen have been informed about the effects of unauthorized fishing gear and given tools to mitigate negative impacts, while fishing cooperatives plan to enforce regulations, prohibit the use of purine, and establish a digital surveillance system to monitor illegal activities and environmental threats.

A report on the annual variation of whiteleg shrimp abundance has been made available.  

The FIP has developed an initial plan to tackle the management of waste produced from white shrimp fishing.

A preliminary report on potential ETP species interactions in the fishery has been made available

The database of the whiteleg shrimp catches in the co-ops participating in the FIP was updated and analyzed to develop a report on the annual variation of whiteleg shrimp abundance. 

The FIP has initiated a data sampling program sampling data across 16 sampling stations to record hydrological and biological data of the whiteleg shrimp and associated fauna. 

Increase to PI 2.1.3 & 2.2.3; The main species associated with the fishery have been identified. The Mexican mojarra is the most abundant catch identified in the Llano de Tigre coop, while the Atlantic bumper and ladyfish are the most abundant catches identified in the Ignlolar coop.

Increase to PI 2.5.3; Wetland degradation analyses were carried out within the National Marshes and the main fishing areas with greater feasibility for natural restoration were mapped.

Increase to PI 3.2.3; An inspection and surveillance program has been established for the white shrimp fishery in the National Marshes.
