The FIP held a meeting where participants discussed generating inputs for fisheries authorities to use in the FMP.

Information collection for estimating clam population extractions has continued through daily catch monitoring and biweekly biological monitoring; the data will be used to inform the FMP.

A technical report has been made available; the report includes abundance information derived from the monitoring program.

Data collection for the monitoring program remains underway; data from the 2023 season has been made available.

A draft collaboration agreement between INAPESCA and CEDO has been made available

The FIP held a meeting to discuss monitoring program activity, including the collection and delivery of clam samples to undergo genetic testing. 

An updated of the CNP has been published; the CNP now includes a clam fact sheet.

A meeting was held between CEDO, INAPESCA and other producers to discuss FIP work activities; the group highlighted the need to carry out specific clam population studies to generate reference points and population genetics. 

At a meeting between CEDO and INAPESCA in May 2023, the group shared materials to initiate their technical collaboration process. 

The FIP received catch information from SIPESCA that will be used to inform the fact sheet for the CNP.

Results derived from the Fishery Monitoring Program were organized and presented at the artisanal fishing session of the Regional Festival of Fisheries and Aquaculture 2022

Proposal for new management and harvest strategies made including the implemtation of a NOM to define minimum catch size and closures and the establishment of of specific fishing zones (Bank 1, Bank 2, etc.) and annual quotas, based on analysis of logbook and survey data

CEDO has sent INAPESCA a proposal for a collaboration agreement

A State Fisheries and Aquaculture Technical Council has been established to assist in the management of the white clam fishery.
