3. FIP Implementation	Feb 24	FIP activities undertaken 1 February 2024 — The FIP has sent introduction letters including a data request to ARAP to ask about the current management practices in place and enforced by the governing body for longline fisheries operating in the Panama EEZ. 15 November 2023 — The FIP continues to record logbook data which includes data on non-target species. 1 July 2023 — The FIP produced a position statement ahead of the 2023 IATTC annual meeting. 1 September 2022 — The FIP coordinator traveled to Panama for a site and met with ARAP and FIP participants to discuss FIP progress and needs. 1 September 2022 — A FIP vessel audit was conducted during the Panama site visit to obtain information on the bycatch management policies currently in place; members of the Marpesca fleet crew have constructed their own custom net to mitigate impacts on incidental catch 1 July 2022 — The FIP produced a position statement ahead of the 2022 IATTC annual meeting.

Improvements in Fishing Practices and Fishery Management	Sep 23	Verifiable improvement in policy/management and fishing practices 1 September 2023 — The FIP has adopted a comprehensive ETP management strategy which includes mitigation measures for shark, turtle, cetacean, seabird and non-specific species interactions. 10 October 2021 — Shark finning policy implemented which prohibits finning practices and establishes that landed sharks must have fins naturally attached
