The use of cameras and the entry of catch data using the PerahuApp has continued to be used as supplementary documentation of fishermen's interactions with their catches. In July 2024, monitoring and evaluation were also carried out concerning the use of the PerahuApp by fishermen as part of efforts to record their catch

Multi-stakeholder meeting convened and included a presentation of data collected by Brawijaya University, which included the composition of target species catch and bycatch

The FIP held training sessions for fishers to introduce the use of the Perahu App which will be used as a logbook to record and collect catch data. 

The FIP has signed a MoU with Brawijaya to conduct a series of research projects necessary to the FIP. 

In August 2023, enumerators and the coordinating team from Sekar Laut received CBT Level 1 training, while project managers attended CBT Level 2 training provided by MSC to enhance their understanding of field data collection procedures.

The FIP has signed a MOU with PT. Sahabat Laut Lestariin an effort to work together to progress data collection. 

Regulation 11/2023 issued which establishes a quota based fishery.

The FIP conducted site visits and met with fishers to discuss ETP species, updates and data collection activities.

FIP visited the University of Brawijaya, Malang and gave a presentation on the FIP action plan to entice the possibility for engagement with future FIP activities. 

PSDI coordinated a meeting for all IFP implementers across Indonesia to discuss identified obstacles and necessary government support; Implementers shared their FIP development matrix sheets with others at the meeting

Conducting Better Management Practices (BMP) training for Wild Shrimp commodity for PT Sekar Laut’ fisher group - Identifying the fisher group mapping based on the assistance program of Fisheries Counsellor of Kotabaru District

The trawl fishing gear used in Kotabaru by fishers still often occur, therefore socialization on eco-friendly shrimp fishing to fishers is needed. This is done to make fishers have proper understanding on the importance of maintaining shrimp resources sustainability in Kotabaru.

Conducting Shrimp BMP socialization by cooperating with the Fisheries Office of Kotabaru - socialisation and training with the logbook 

There has been a substantial increase in the information available about the fishery including information related to stock structure, stock productivity and fleet composition. This is based on implementation of the logbook requirement by the goverment. This has resulted in an increase in PI score 1.2.3. to 60-79

Increase in PI score 2.2.3. - Considerable progress has been made in collecting data on secondary species in the fishery. Catch data from the fishery dependent logbook and enumerators are available and the assessor was provided with examples of the data available at the site visit.

Increase to PI 2.4.2.; The Indonesian government has prohibited the use of trawls in Indonesian waters
